Eudora 6.x for Windows: Backup and Restore POP Mailboxes

Overview

Backing up your data is an important part of maintaining your computer. While you should back up all your data regularly, you may wish to make a backup of your email specifically for ease of restoration or before undertaking a major software upgrade or conversion. For more information on backing up your email, both POP and IMAP, see Backing up Your Email.

The following instructions provide a way to make a copy of your Eudora Folder. This folder contains your Eudora POP email, address book data, and settings. These instructions will not make a backup of IMAP mail stored on the server.

Backing Up

Eudora mailboxes are stored in a folder named Eudora which is located in the C:\Users\yourusername directory where yourusername is the name of your Windows login name.

  2. Right-click on the Eudora folder and select Copy.

  3. Right-click again, this time on the white space within the window and select Paste.
Result: The Copy of Eudora folder appears in the window. You have successfully copied your Eudora folder.
